DRIVE BY DAY, WHISKY BY NIGHT!

The Highlands. Speyside. Great roads. Great whisky.
One unforgettable driving experience.
Take your club on a journey into the heart of Scotland, where spectacular roads wind through breathtaking Highland scenery and some of the world's most celebrated whisky country.
The Whisky Discovery Drive is a three-night motoring experience combining two carefully researched driving days with the landscapes, hospitality and unmistakable character of Scotland.
Along the way we'll discover Highland and Speyside distilleries, cross the Cairngorms, enjoy some wonderful food and give you plenty of reasons to park the car, raise a glass and talk about the day's adventures.
And because it's a Discovery Drive, we've already done the hard work.
The routes are researched. The hotels are selected. The experiences are planned. You just need the cars and the people to enjoy them.
What to Expect
Three nights in Scotland
Your adventure begins near Dundee before heading north into the Highlands and Speyside, including a night in the Cairngorms, before returning to our starting point.
Two memorable driving days
More than 300 miles of carefully researched roads take you through some of Scotland's finest landscapes and whisky-producing regions.
Ten distilleries along the way
The route introduces you to ten Highland and Speyside distilleries, from famous names to lesser-known discoveries.
The Cairngorms
Drive through one of Britain's most spectacular landscapes, with a night in the heart of Cairngorms National Park.
Great food and good company
Welcome dinner, picnic hamper lunches, evening dining and a farewell celebration make the social side every bit as important as the driving.
Quest Drive – if you fancy it
Add a little friendly competition with optional Quest Drive challenges along the route.
Or don't. How to Quest
Discovery Drives are designed to be enjoyed at your own pace, so you're equally welcome to forget the leaderboard and simply enjoy the road..
The Experience
More than a whisky tour. More than a driving tour.
This is about bringing the two together.
By day, you'll follow carefully selected roads through some of Scotland's most spectacular countryside, passing through Highland and Speyside whisky country and discovering distilleries, villages, viewpoints and places you might otherwise drive straight past.
Once the cars are safely parked, whisky becomes part of the experience.
There are opportunities to discover the people, stories and craftsmanship behind Scotland's most famous spirit, alongside relaxed dinners and evenings spent in the company of fellow enthusiasts.
And you certainly don't need to be a whisky expert to enjoy it.
Come for the roads. Come for the whisky. Ideally, come for both.

Professional team

Easy to Navigate. Easy to Enjoy.
We've already driven and researched the routes, so you don't have to.
Navigation is provided through our easy-to-follow app, combining mapping, instructions and information about the journey ahead.
For those who want an extra challenge, sections of the route can include Quest Drive – our optional driving treasure hunt combining observation, questions and challenges.
There's no pressure to compete and no race against the clock.
This is a social driving experience, not a speed event.
Follow the route. Stop where you want. Discover something new.
That's rather the point.
Make the Whisky Discovery Drive Your Club's Event
Your club. Your members. Our experience.
The Whisky Discovery Drive is available as a turnkey event for car clubs, owners' groups and motoring communities.
We've already created the concept and developed the route. Venture Bound can then take care of the planning, hotels, suppliers, participant information, logistics and delivery of the event for your group.
Your club promotes the experience to its members.
We do the work.
The event can also be presented under your club's identity, giving you the opportunity to put a professionally organised Scottish driving tour into your calendar without placing the organisational burden on your committee or volunteers.
And because we're running it, your organisers get to do something rather unusual.
Enjoy the event too.
Itinerary
Roads may change by the day, due to closures.
Any schedule or itinerary published must be considered provisional.

DAY 1
The Journey
Day One | Arrive, meet & raise a glass
Make your way to our starting hotel near Dundee and settle in for the beginning of your Scottish adventure.
That evening we'll get everyone together for welcome drinks, whisky tasting and dinner.
It's an opportunity to meet your fellow crews, talk cars, discover a little about the whisky country ahead and hear what we have planned for the following morning.
Then it's time for a good night's sleep.
There are some rather good roads waiting for you.

DAY 2
Day Two | Dundee to the Cairngorms
Approximately 158 miles
After breakfast, collect your picnic hamper, start the car and head north.
Today's route takes us towards Stonehaven before turning west into Speyside and the Cairngorms.
Along the way you'll encounter five distilleries, combining Highland and Speyside producers and giving you a fascinating introduction to Scotland's whisky-making landscape.
We'll suggest places for coffee, viewpoints and scenic picnic stops, but this isn't about following a stopwatch.
Stop when something catches your eye. Explore. Take photographs. Enjoy the roads.
Those wanting some friendly competition can also take part in optional Quest Drive challenges along the way.
By late afternoon we'll arrive at our overnight hotel in the Cairngorms, giving you time to relax before everyone comes together for dinner.
There may also be some discussion about the Quest Drive leaderboard.
And possibly the wooden spoon.

DAY 3
Day Three | Speyside, the Highlands & the road south
Approximately 166 miles
After breakfast and another picnic hamper safely stowed away, we're back on the road.
Today's journey takes in another five distilleries as we travel through Speyside and the Highlands before turning south across the Cairngorms towards Pitlochry.
Expect wonderful scenery, excellent driving roads and plenty of opportunities to stop and explore.
We'll again provide suggested stops, points of interest and optional Quest Drive challenges, while leaving you free to make the day your own.
Eventually, the route brings us back towards Dundee and our starting hotel.
That evening, with the cars parked for the final time, we'll gather for farewell drinks and dinner.
Stories will be exchanged.
Quest Drive honours will be settled.
And a glass may be raised to a couple of rather good days on the road.
DAY 4

Day Four | Breakfast & home
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure before saying goodbye to your fellow crews and beginning your journey home.
You'll also leave with an event souvenir.
Although we suspect the roads, whisky and people you shared them with will be the things you remember most.
Each guest will also receive a gift as a memento of the event.
