Easy Navigation

Navigation will be by an easy-to-follow GPS app showing junctions as simple line diagrams (known as “Tulips” in the rallying world), pictures and maps. Each driving section will have Quest Drives incorporated into them which will consist of route based questions and challenges.

The days will consist of Quest Drives and castles finishing each day around 5pm to enjoy the evening.

The event has a minimum of 12 cars to participate.

Questions & Answers

Q: How do I secure an entry?

A: Complete the entry form, and press submit. You will receive an e mail by return with our bank details on it. Please transfer the non-refundable deposit to secure your entry.

In the next 7 days you will receive an invoice for the total amount showing the deposit paid.

Q: What do I need to navigate?

A working, up to date smart phone or tablet to use as your navigation.

Q: What car can I bring?

A: As the route isn't timed but more about your observation, it doesn't matter what car you bring. Whether it is electric to vintage, you will compete against each other. Something to bear in mind is that there will not be a mechanic on the event. You will need to have a crew of 2 people to participate.

Q: When is the balance due?

A: The balance is due before the 12th January 2024. You will receive an e mail reminder prior to the date.

Q: Why is the deposit non-refundable?

A: The deposit represents the deposit we have to pay venues to secure the event as well as the initial costs for route recce. Neither of these costs are recoverable.

Q: Who is organising this event, who are the organisers?

A: The route is created and developed by Venture Bound. Venture Bound is run by Elise Whyte one half of the Whyte Sisters Classic Rally Car Team.

DAY 1 - Friday 12th April

Arriving early Friday at The Vale Resort, Pontyclun, you are welcomed by the Venture Bound team, who will organise your Documentation and a practice route will be available to get acquainted with the app. The event starts after lunch (not provided), where you will be able to test your Quest Drive skills and see how observant you are as team.

Today’s route is only a few hours before heading back to the hotel. Accommodation for Friday and Saturday at The Vale is available (at an extra cost). Dinner is not included.

DAY 2 - Saturday 13th April

The morning begins at The Vale where you will depart for your first Quest Drive of the day towards the Brecon Beacons. Wales has 427 castles, which mean there are castles everywhere. We will make a stop for coffee at a castle but be sure to keep an eye for ruins on your way there.

Another Quest Drive to lunch before heading back out on the road for more competition. Then we head back to rally HQ at The Vale.

DAY 3 - Sunday 14th April

The final day of exploring castles, takes us on a small loop to local castles, offering fantastic views of the Welsh valleys. The event concludes with a final Quest Drive around the Welsh countryside before taking you back to The Vale where lunch will be served.

After lunch there will be a small prize giving for overall Quest Drive as well as themed awards for the event before departing early afternoon.
